This allows the color to set.
Spray the cushion covers with scotchgard uv and water protective spray.
If they are polyester use rit dyemore and grab a large stainless steel pot.
Fabric will look darker when wet and will dry lighter.
Firstly don t even attempt dying a cushion that doesn t have a removable cover.
When desired color is achieved remove from dyebath.
This is true however outdoor cushions are a bit more complicated than fabric you use indoors.
Remove the cushion cover from the dye solution using thick rubber gloves to keep the hands dye free and rinse with water until it flows clear.
Let the cushion covers soak for about five minutes.
If you are interested in changing your outdoor cushion covers check the label to see what fabric they are.
This can lead to the dye penetrating through to the foam which can lead to problems with mould.
Stirring helps to ensure an even color with no splotches.
Run under cool water until the water runs clear.
Hang the cover outside to dry thoroughly in the sun.
Keep in mind that when the dye dries the color appears lighter on fabric than the actual dye color.
Place the cushion covers into the dye bath and submerge them with the wooden spoon until the fabric is fully saturated.
Leave the covers to soak in the dye bath for about five minutes.
Stir slowly and continuously.
